Muttering – ‘Soap Box’

Muttering Soap Box video stream

Muttering have shared the Ben Pollard-directed video for ‘Soap Box’, the title track of their latest EP (out now on Beth Shalom Records). The trio say the song is ‘About feeling out of touch with the world, and being completely unsure of yourself’ and this is summed up by its opening lyrics: ‘I don’t think I’ve made a good choice in years, that’s what money does. Am I ever gonna take the easy way out?’

These self-depreciating lyrics are sung over twinkly emo guitar hooks and more intense moments filled with powerful observations about the power of anger and isolation: ‘Am I ever gonna take things seriously? Paying monthly for this catastrophe money, disappointed that it’s not a comedy’.
