We’ve been big fans of Glagow-based post rockers Dialects for a few years now and were very excited to hear their debut LP ‘Because Your Path is Unlike Any Other’ (available via Through Love Rec on vinyl now) after hearing their phenomenal EPs and watching live performances at the likes of ArcTanGent and Audiotree. Here,…
New Saddle Creek (Bright Eyes, Cursive, Hop Along) signings Young Jesus originally formed in Chicago but have since relocated to Los Angeles and their sound is a combination of shoegaze, Kinsella-style math moments and the intelligent pop sensibilities of Talk Talk. ‘Feeling’ is the first single to be released from upcoming album ‘S/T’ and it’s…
We’ve been fans of The Android Angel for a long time now and have been listening to new record ‘The Hissing and the Hum’ a lot recently. It’s a powerful and personal piece with plenty to say about personal conflicts and emotions and the way the wider world is right now. In this piece Paul…

Words by Joe Booley. In 2015, the world was introduced to Tennessee solo artist, Julien Baker. Bringing out her debut album ‘Sprained Ankle’ to critical acclaim with her looped electric guitar layers and beautifully honest lyrics, Baker now returns with her sophomore LP ‘Turn Out the Lights’. To kick off the record we are greeted…
Brutalligators – ‘November 4 2016‘ We’re almost a year on from the title of this song but it still remains as fresh and relevant as ever. Full of twinkly guitars and honest observations in a similar style to SN favourites itoldyouiwouldeatyou, it finds the North Herts band looking back over the concept of ageing and…
Words by Joe Booley. Opening the EP with the lead single, ‘Shelter’, Charlotte Carpenter demonstrates her strengths as a songwriter right off the bat. Straight into a driving force of guitar and drums to fall back for the entry of Charlotte’s clean and sassy vocals, with a half-speed chorus we feel almost a complete shift…
