itoldyouiwouldeatyou have expanded from Joey Ashworth’s solo project to a full band over the past 18 months and this progression has served the London/Guildford(ish) five-piece so well. Having honed their skills in various live shows alongside the likes of the Xcerts, Jamie Lenman and Theo, they’re now set to release their first EP proper with…
Hailing from London, Peter Cat have unveiled the video for ‘Keeping Up with Jacob’ and its one full of macabre-style lion and parrot masks, strong dance moves and a toe-tapping melody that will quickly seep itself into your brain. But that’s something you won’t mind. Referencing everything from the Turner Prize to Billy Childish and…
Hailing from the Bay Area of San Francisco, we were enamoured with A Yawn Worth Yelling, not only by their awesome name, but also by the PR promise of a band that sounds somewhat ‘reminiscent of hellogoodbye and The Dear Hunter’. We were delighted to see A Yawn Worth Yelling fulfil this promise on ‘Play…
Two of our favourite people – and two of the most exciting independent labels around – Super Fan 99 and Alcopop! Records have collaborated to come up with a very special release for Cassette Store Day 2015. Featuring a track each from The Orielles, Zooz, Cotillon, Helen Love, Get Inuit and The Spills (that’s three…
A favourite with Goldflakepaint who has signed to Jagjaguwar (Bon Iver, Sharon Van Etten), when we first heard Briana Marela we were left with goosebumps by her gorgeous, glacial voice. A Washington native, she headed over to Iceland to record debut album ‘All Around Us’ with Sigur Rós producer Alex Somers. With strings arranged by…

Following this up is ‘Basalisk’, a song that showcases a grungier and altogether dirtier side…
Now signed to Saddle Creek records – a label that has been home to the likes of Bright Eyes, Cursive and The Thermals – Hop Along released their eagerly anticipated sophomore album ‘Painted Shut’ earlier this year. A concept album of sorts, it focuses on two fairly unknown musicians, Buddy Bolden and Jackson C. Frank,…
Produced by Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, you should already be excited to hear this new record from Brooklyn punks Worriers. ‘Imaginary Life’ is full of vigour and vitality and as soon as the oh-so-short ‘Jinx’ opens the record, you’ll know this is a band with something to say. Presented in a Moldy Peaches-style…
Having recently released their debut EP Swimmer via https://www.facebook.com/sportsdayrecords, we’re delighted to offer you a stream of https://www.facebook.com/arbesmusic’ ‘Beach Side’. Hailing from Melbourne, the three-piece mix swirling samba beats with lilting vocals and a slacker style that’s hard not to adore. Still in their teens, the band has a sound that will appeal to fans…
Having played the Great Escape, gained exposure from the likes of GoldFlakePaint and supported the likes of Weyes Blood, things have been getting better and better for Annabel Allum. Now she’s joined forces with Propriety Records (a creative collaboration between Thom Ashworth, who you’ll know from Our Lost Infantry, and Death of the Blogger/itoldyouiwouldeatyou’s Ollie…
