Graveyard Club – ‘It Hurts’

When a press officer references Stars in their pitch, you know a band are going to be worth checking out. This was the case with Minneapolis four-piece Graveyard Club. The band also list Arcade Fire, The Cure and New Order amongst their influences on their Facebook page and this all shines through on the synth-heavy ‘It Hurts’.

This song will appear on their forthcoming album ‘Goodnight Paradise’ (released on 28 June) and offers a fine introduction to their goth-tinged indie-rock. With baritone and lilting vocals intertwining and a dreamy, woozy melody, the song finds the band trying desperately to find their way through heartbreak with a real burst of emotion.
