Cloth – ‘Pink Silence’

Glasgow-based twin sibling duo Cloth (Rachael and Paul Swinton) have shared the title track for their new album ‘Pink Silence’ (out on 25 April, 2025 via Rock Action).

Featuring guest appearances from Adrian Utley and Stuart Braithwaite, Paul says the song is based on ‘a particular time and feeling – those moments late in the evening or very early in the morning, when the sun is rising or setting. Depending on your mindset at a given time, these moments can either feel blissfully serene, or charged with a sense of foreboding’.

The song is dreamy at first, with a sound that fits alongside Cocteau Twins and Beach House but there’s an underlying darkness that captures the sense of dread some people feel, brought into your mind by the stabs of synth and droney textures.
