HLLLYH (Mae Shi) – Dead Clade

HLLLYH (formerly the Mae Shi) have shared their debut song ‘Dead Clade’.

Following 2008’s cult classic ‘HLLLYH’ album, the Mae Shi went dark… Leaving an incredible legacy but fans wondering what had happened. In 2022, Mae Shi founding member Tim Byron decided to get the band back together and record one last album.

This ending soon sounded like the beginning of something, hence the name change and renewed impetus. ‘Dead Clade’, with origins that can be traced back to 2009, is the second oldest song on the record and is full of that mid-to-late 2000s fightpunk spirit and bombast.

Equal parts Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and Desaparecidos, it’s a fun-filled and zesty five minutes of fun that won’t fail to make you smile, especially with that youthful – but now wistful – declaration of ‘We’ll sleep when the sun comes up’.
