Jo Bartlett has shared the video for her synth protest song ‘These Simple Things’. A timely piece that comes just two weeks after the release of ‘Time and Time and Again’, the song finds Jo talking about how everything is ‘fucked up with all these things’ and how ‘the billionaires are stealing from our hands’ against a Postal Service-meets Magnetic Fields backing – ending with a plea that all compassionate communities can get behind: ‘Hold me when I fall; I’ll do the same for you’.
Jo has also shared the full line-up for The Wake, a one-day festival she started with Danny Hagan (they were It’s Jo and Danny, founders of Green Man) last year. This year’s The Wake takes place on Loxwood Meadow near Billingshurst in West Sussex on Saturday 23 August, 2025.
