Friendship, friends of MJ Lenderman and Wednesday, have shared ‘Resident Evil’ ahead of the release of more new material in the near future. Written while crashing at MJ and Karly Hartzman’s home in summer 2023, the song is an introspective piece of anthemic alt-folk with plenty of self-deprecation about where life takes you – despite your best intentions and dreams: ‘Something lurking in the dark’.

This is followed by observations on just how scary the world can be – and the thoughts of others when they see you: ‘Who’s that shithead in my living room playing Resident Evil?’
