Oasis Live ’25 – The alternate setlist

The Oasis reunion is just days away and soon you won’t be able to move for bucket hats, classic logo T-shirts and singalongs to ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’.

We thought it would be fun to come up with an alternative setlist – avoiding the singles and B-sides from the ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘Morning Glory’ eras. We’re not sure shows with these songs would shift quite as many tickets (especially at the ‘dynamic’ prices), but we’d have a blast.

(intro) ‘Fuckin’ in the Bushes’
‘Go Let It Out’
‘Be Here Now’
‘The Hindu Times’
‘The Shock of the Lightning’
‘Hung in a Bad Place’
‘The Meaning of Soul’
‘Gas Panic!’
‘Mucky Fingers’
‘Little By Little’
‘Songbird’
‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’
‘Thank You for the Good Times’
‘I Hope I Think I Know’
‘Force of Nature’
‘It’s Gettin’ Better (Man!)’
‘Stand By Me’

Encore:
‘D’you Know What I Mean’
‘Don’t Go Away’
‘Lyla’
‘Stay Young’

We started with the traditional PA play of ‘Fuckin’ in the Bushes’ before then segueing into ‘Standing on the Shoulder of Giants’ lead single ‘Go Let It Out’, a hit that should encourage a singalong and ease into a run of faster bangers. It’s a high-octane start that captures the spirit of latter-day Oasis.

We also give long-time band members Gem Archer (‘Hung in a Bad Place’) and Andy Bell (‘Thank You for the Good Times’) their due by letting them play the songs they wrote for the band. After a frantic ‘Gas Panic!’, it will be time for Liam to take a break and Noel to take over, blasting through the punk-rock anger of ‘Mucky Fingers’ and then crowd favourite ‘Little By Little’.

Liam would come back on for a rendition of the always-welcome ‘Songbird’ and the anthemic ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ before we up the tempo again with some album tracks from ‘Be Here Now’ and a closing ‘Stand By Me’.

We want to see the crowd in full voice during the encore – and add an emotional touch with their ode to their mum, Peggy on ‘Don’t Go Away. The closing one-two of ‘Lyla’ and ‘Stay Young’ will send people home in the best spirits. The latter being especially joyous.

Oasis were not a band to change a setlist so it’s unlikely we’ll hear more than five or six of these songs, but it was fun to look back through the band’s back catalogue. Now, we’re just gutted we didn’t make space for ‘Let’s All Make Believe’ or ‘Idler’s Dream’…
