Glasgow-based art rockers Humour have shared new single ‘The Paddies’ ahead of the release of their debut album ‘Learning Greek’ via So Young Records on 8 August. Frontman Andreas Christoloudis says the song ‘is from the point of view of a character who summons various members of the dead throughout history to rise in a muddy field and asks them what it would take to allow their souls to rest peacefully.’
Avant garde from the first note, it’s the kind of song that demands your attention on first listen. It combines wiry post-punk influences with gothic wit and experimentalism favoured by the likes of Squid and Mush.
