Kalamazoo, MI emo-rockers saturdays at your place have shared new song ‘Waste Away’ ahead of the release of their second album ‘these things happen’ on 12 September. The video was co-directed by Michael Herrick and Hot Mulligan vocalist Tades Sanville, who also makes a cameo in it.

Clocking in at just over three minutes, the song opens in glitchy style before guitars reminiscent of the more recent Los Campesinos! material takes hold. The song then moves into a more Midwestern feel with driving bass and pummelling drums that surround the sad, self-effacing lyrics: ‘I want to waste away until I’m nothing but a memory’. The band then try to find some hope and solace in a loved one with the call and response of ‘Remind me, to remember, that this won’t last forever’.
