Laura Mary Carter – ‘June Gloom’

Laura Mary Carter – one half of Blood Red Shoes – has shared ‘June Gloom’ ahead of the release of her debut album ‘Bye Bye Jackie’.

Swapping grungey riffs for something more soulful with an Americana tinge and a touch of The National and Basia Bulat, Laura says the song is ‘a bittersweet weather report that captures the weird timing of sadness – how it shows up just when things start to feel okay’: ‘I want to dance with you. My clothes are drenched through’.

There’s also a stunning guest lead from Idles’ Lee Kiernan thrown into the mix.
