Theo Bleak has shared ‘Megan in New York’ ahead of the release of ‘Bargaining’ – ‘A chronological mixtape of my year through the most intense stage of grief I experienced’ – on 18 December, 2025.

Against a blend of sampled drum effects and gorgeously glacial yet gothic guitar, the song chronicles a trip to New York that signalled the start of Theo’s self-implosion. There’s a DIY feel and plenty of heart as Theo remembers the advice to ‘Do what’s right for you’ before scuzzy hooks come to the fore at the halfway point. The song gently sways back into a calmer sound as it reaches its final throes, yet the words are powerfully spiteful: ‘You’re a righteous fuck who does just what they wanna do. Hope I made it up out of hopeless solitude’
