Halifax-based singer-songwriter Ellur has shared ‘Dream of Mine’ ahead of the release of debut album ‘At Home in My Mind’ via Dance to the Radio on 6 February, 2026.
A song about ‘feeling selfish for wanting to pursue a career that requires a lot of sacrifices’, it finds Ellur ruminating on the insecurities that come with following a dream that could push social expectations aside (she candidly notes how ‘you don’t really hear male rock stars apologising for wanting success’): ‘You took me out to dinner, we were sinking the wine, talking about the families, all the kids you’d like. But I’m running for the chaos to be seen under the lights. You wonder where you fit into this dream of mine’
She bears her heart against a soundtrack that is dreamy and atmospheric, recalling The War on Drugs or Sharon Van Etten. There’s a pride and defiance in Ellur’s voice as she demands to her partner: ‘Are you coming with me or are you leaving me behind?’
