Masca have shared new single ‘Diggin’ ahead of the release of debut album ‘Love Letters’ via Cold Hard Bangers on 3 April.
Inspired by the current political climate and how many are ‘getting so entrenched with your own views that you’re unable to take a step back’, the song opens with angular guitar sounds and finds Christina Maynard capturing some of the disagreements that have blighted so many conversations over the past decade or so: ‘You’re so clever, I’m ill-advised’
Christina mentions how ‘You hold hate in your hands’ and asks ‘How do we get better?’ against mathy power pop hooks that have a touch of Foxing and Orchards before heading into a grungier direction, complete with some fine advice for all sides: ‘If you’re digging a hole, don’t dig it too deep’.
