Little Matador’s self-titled debut album was full of hooks, choruses and a refreshingly bold rock aesthetic. Now, ahead of a few festival appearances and support slots to Biffy Clyro this summer, the band will release their new single ‘Reasons’ on 16 June. The video to the track is partly inspired by Rocky and finds frontman Nathan Connolly forced into a fight with the professional female boxer Lisa Anderson… but things don’t go according to plan. Meanwhile, his bandmates sit back and enjoy the show.

With a song that sounds somewhere between Kasabian’s ‘Shoot the Runner’ and the Black Keys’ more dynamic moments , it’s also refreshing to see a band have a laugh at themselves in a pop video. It’s a knock-out combination.
