Pip Hall – ‘Mary’ stream

Pip Hall Mary new music 2018

My Little Empire Records signing Pip Hall has unveiled ‘Mary’, the first single from her debut album ‘Everything Before’ (out 9 November).

Opening with a burst of Wolf Alice-style grunge-pop guitar, the song is Pip’s ode to the joys of being young and careless and finds her recalling fond memories (‘You took me to the broken house where I fell in love for the first time) and celebrating the likes of ‘skinny jeans and shit hair’ and how in this much simpler time you had no money but wouldn’t care. Around the 2 minutes and 40 seconds mark, the song takes a more avant-garde direction that will appeal to fans of bands as eclectic as Let’s Eat Grandma and Spring King.
