Following the loss of a studio to a mudslide, Santa Barbara musician Erich Tomkinson (formerly Dot Plaza) relocated to Los Angeles and got to work on his new Glossies project. Released via Super Fan 99 Records, the debut Glossies single ‘Popular’ is a playful and irreverent piece of bedroom pop that recalls the great Western US pop bands of the ’60s and 70s but combines this more contemporary My Morning Jacket vibes. The full-length Glossies record also has a fantastically punny title (‘Cactus What You Peach’), and we can’t wait to hear more.
