Seattle dream pop duo Night Hikes have shared ‘Avila’ ahead of a West Coast tour. Named after a beach in California, the song finds Olivia Godby celebrating the joys of everyday acts of love (‘You’re the only one who ever made my coffee right, you’re the only one who saw the magic out of sight’) with touching and powerful lyrics and an electronica-tinged sound that recalls Bat for Lashes and M83. There’s also a touch of Sharon Van Etten’s latest album in the expansive sound and personal lyrics that include a joyful ode to days out at the beach.
