Alcopop! Records share ‘The World According to Lomana Lua Lua’ charity compilation in aid of United Glasgow FC

United Glasgow FC Refugees Welcome Lomana LuaLua compilation album Alcopop

Alcopop! Records’ beginnings can be traced back to a bet on a Portsmouth football match that saw everyone’s favourite Congolese winger Tresor Lomana LuaLua hit the back of the net. Ever since then, the player has been treated as a hero by everyone associated with the label and now he’s appearing on one of their T-shirts (and has his name put to a compilation) – in Panini Cheapskates form!

More importantly, all proceeds from sales of the pay-what-you-want T-shirt (minimum donation £5) will be donated towards United Glasgow FC – a community project and amateur football club that provides inclusive and fun football in Glasgow. The club welcomes refugees to Scotland and creates opportunities by tackling exclusion for participants from a variety of disadvantaged groups, offering them opportunities that they may otherwise be denied.

The project is supported by Tresor, a former refugee himself, and the compilation features a striking line-up of DIY indie and punk heroes including False Advertising, Cheerbleedrz, Dream Nails, Happy Accidents, Queen Zee, Nervus and itoldyouiwouldeatyou.

The compilation can be downloaded from Bandcamp with or without the shirt for free, but please leave a donation if you can.
