The Antlers have shared details of new album ‘Green to Gold’ (released via Transgressive on 26 March – pre-order here) and shared the stunning video for ‘Solstice’. Lead singer Peter Silberman says the new single is ‘a flashback to the infinite days of peak childhood summer, innocent barefoot hikes, staying outside all afternoon and late into the evening, well past it being too dark to see. But it’s remembered from the vantage of a present day that feels unbearably long rather than joyously endless. It’s an invocation of those simpler times, an attempt to conjure the lightness of youth, before life got so damn complicated.’

Quietly stirring, almost orchestral hooks and Peter’s hushed falsetto vocals capture the melancholy feeling of looking back at a time when everything seemed so much easier (‘The week went slow, the year flew by. From the end of June back to last July’) before a plea for everyone to make sure their emotions are ‘keeping bright, bright, bright’.
