Hayden Thorpe – ‘The Universe Is Always Right’

Former Wild Beast Hayden Thorpe has shared the video for new single ‘The Universe is Always Right’ ahead of the release of his second solo album ‘Moondust for My Diamond’ on 15 October. The album follows 2019’s ‘Diviner’ LP and last year’s ‘Aerial Songs’ EP.

Given its title, there’s a suitably cosmic edge to the new song with Hayden’s gentle falsetto talking about how ‘the universe is always right’ and offering a plea to ‘touch me, baby, cry my name’. The sound reminded us of more recent Sharon Van Etten material crossed with sparkling and dreamy electronica. It’s a modern-day lullaby.
