Poster Paints (a Glasgow duo made up of Carla J Easton and Frightened Rabbit’s Simon Liddell) have shared new single ‘Falling Hard’ ahead of the release of their self-titled debut album on 14 October via Ernest Jenning Record Co./Olive Grove Records.

The single found Simon sending Carla three minutes of melodic and jangly indie-pop in the vein of Teenage Fanclub and Orange Juice that she added words to from her mornings spent free writing (‘where you write non-stop without thinking and the only rule is to fill three pages of your notebook’). The final result is an optimistic statement of intent that you’ll – rather inevitably – fall for instantly: ‘Giving up is not on the cards, when I fall, I’m falling hard’.
