Momma follow last year’s incredible ‘Household Name’ album with new single ‘Bang Bang’ – a ‘super literal and crude’ song about great sex. Written while isolating and drunk during Covid restrictions, the slice of ’90s-tinged melodic grunge rock finds Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten demanding ‘If you want it, we can go’ and revealing how ‘Life is good between my thighs’ while also talking about keeping things secret and how ‘We can do it on the phone’. Combining the power of PJ Harvey with the pure thirst of Los Campesinos’ earlier work, there’s an allure as the band say: ‘I want it, I mean it, I need it now. Bang bang and sleep in’.
