Celestial North has shared ‘Otherworld’, the title track from her debut album (out on 7 July). Ethereal and glacial in tone, Celestial North describes the song as ‘A rabble-rousing pick-me-up on days when life feels a bit much, a reminder that it will all be OK and that we are never truly alone on this world’.

Inspired by the surroundings of her native Scotland and its stunning nature landscapes (plus the various wondrous natural elments in her ‘now home’ of the Lake District), this track has a magical, appropriately enough ‘otherworldly’ feel right from its opening notes.

It reminded us of Mew’s more introspective moments before morphing into something that would fit nicely between Low and Bat for Lashes – there’s something cosmic yet also classical in its twinkling and glistening sound.
