Basement have shared ‘Head Alight’ ahead of the release of new album – and first in eight years – ‘Wired’ on 8 May, 2026 via their original label, Run for Cover Records. Vocalist Andrew Fisher says: ‘What started out as a love song quickly evolved into something a lot more ethereal.’

Proudly wearing its early 2000s indie-rock influences on its sleeve, especially with the angular guitar hooks at the forefront, it’s an expansive sound as Andrew tells his loved one: ‘You shine so bright, you set my head alight’. With a brooding bass line driving the sound forward, it’s an anthemic, slower piece with so much passion running through.
