
Man/Woman/Chainsaw have shared the brilliantly titled ‘Goddamn, Lizard Man!’ ahead of their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Cannonball’ (out on 7 August, 2026 via Fiction Records).
The first song released from the album to feature Billy Ward on lead vocals, the gritty track takes a ‘look at the kind of slimy, manipulative magnetism people can carry – you recognise that they’re the worst yet somehow you can still find yourself captivated’. While Billy’s growl has an element of Nick Cave, there’s more Captain Beefheart or The Coral-esque pop sensibilities shining through in the dark pop hooks.
There’s also a wild intensity rising throughout as the strings and perfectly pitched backing vocals join Billy in his horror: ‘You gotta get out, he’ll chew you up and spit you out’…
