LA-based indie-poppers Cosmo Gold have shared the video for ‘Drown the Fly’, a song that appears on their new EP ‘Waiting on the City’.
With shotgun guitars at the forefront, a danceable samba-inspired rhythm section and plenty of cowbell that would fit nicely next to Two Door Cinema Club, Barrie or Future Islands, it’s a bittersweet song made for festivals. There’s a ’90s-inspired tone in the way Emily Gold celebrates being an outsider (‘All of the freaks salivate out on the streets. Look just like me’) and you’ll be fully on her side when she lays her feelings bare: ‘I am so scared to die. Like when they first broke it down as a child. I am impulsive all the time’.
