Beach Slang have announced their return with new single ‘Bam Rang Rang’ and details of new album ‘The Deadbeat Bang of Heartbreak City’ (out 10 January via Bridge Nine Records). The band will also be supporting Goo Goo Dolls across the US throughout November.

With scuzz-filled riffs from the off, ‘Bam Rang Rang’ finds Beach Slang embracing a punk sound in line with their early ’90s heroes including early Manics and Mega City Four as James Alex sings deliciously dirty, self-depreciating lyrics: ‘I’m a cigarette with nothing to lose, I’m a filthy rat, a heart attack, a real good nothing with an itch to scratch’. He also counts down with a ‘tick tick tick’ before repeating the album title. DespiteĀ  only being three and a half minutes long, there’s time for a glorious ’70s rock & roll-inspired breakdown – something that anyone who’s seen Beach Slang live will know is kind of James’ speciality.
