Dutch Uncles bassist Robin Richards has shared the video for ‘Toompea’, the first single to be taken from his forthcoming ‘Castel’ EP (out on 6 December via Prah Recordings).

‘An exploration of the impact that Soviet oppression in the Baltics had on native artists in the 70s and 80s’, the instrumental and orchestral piece has the same kind of abstract yet alluring melodies as Robin’s day job but wraps them up in a more minimalist tone that brings to mind composers in the vein of Steve Reich. As the song ups the ante in the final of its three movements, it veers into a mathy direction that reminded us of Nordic Giants.
