Bambara – ‘Heat Lightning’

Bambara Heat Lightning

Athens, Georgia’s Bambara have shared the video for ‘Heat Lightning’ ahead of the release of new album ‘Stray’ on 14 February via Wharf Cat.

Tipped as one of the breakthrough bands of the year, Bambara count Steve Lamacq and Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins amongst their fans and it’s easy to see why. A snarling beast of a song, ‘Heat Lightning’ opens with intent – post-punk riffs blending with a galloping bass line and powerful drums as a goth-infused noir atmosphere takes over. There is talk of gloveboxes, the weather, creature in ditches and ‘knuckles on the wheel’ as the song progresses into even darker territory: ‘I can’t explain every little thing’; ‘I don’t care what they say’.
