Harkin has shared ‘Nothing the Night Can’t Change’, the first single from her self-titled debut album (out on Katie and her partner Kate Leah Hewett’s own label Hand Mirror on 24 April). The album will be supported by tours across Europe with both Sleater-Kinney and Torres and ‘Nothing the Light Can’t Change’ features guest appearances from both Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa and Wye Oak and Bon Iver’s Jenn Wasner.

Harkin says the track is ‘a love song inspired by the North of England’ and you can hear the romance bursting through the slightly gothic post-punk guitar riffs and driving rhythm that recalls Interpol at their most alluring. Harkin keeps repeating the title of the track and asks the subject to remember the fun nights and those things that ‘cannot be undone’.
