Wolverhampton-based singer-songwriter Bryony Williams has signed to our friends at Beth Shalom Records and shared ‘I Can Be’ – the lead single from her upcoming third EP, ‘State I’m In’ (out on 25 September).

A song about fleshing out your inner confidence and owning who you are, the assertive anthem has an indie-rock sound but also elements of Rosie Tucker or Lucy Dacus in the guitar work, twinkling piano backing and emo tendencies. Bryony declares ‘I can be anything I want to be’ before then looking towards her future: ‘I can’t imagine living a life of luxury. Simply enjoy the things you do. Conventional is not for you.’
