Reminders – ‘Seaside Scampi’

Reminders Seaside Scampi

Isle of Wight-based Burger Records signings Reminders have shared the fittingly titled ‘Seaside Scampi’. The trio found the tune in the form of an old demo while rummaging through boxes while the island placed a ban on local beaches during lockdown. Singer Leo Dyke says: ‘I can’t help but reminisce about hanging out with friends on a beach right now. I always loved the youthful naivety of the song, which is a fan favourite at our shows’.

The nostalgic slice of punk rock blends elements of early Green Day (that bass line) with bursts of Britpop and slacker stylings – all against the backdrop of young lust and naivety: ‘Most of our memories are of trampolines, seaside scampi will tell you I wanted to be with you’; ‘Some day you’ll come back to me with open arms, calling my name’.

Reminders have also started the ‘Beach Punx Fund‘ where £1 of everything sold will help three organisations they support to make a positive change, so supporting this single will see donations going to Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights UK, Mind, and Surfers Against Sewage.
