It’s been such a strange year and in the spirit of togetherness and community, we’re going to be counting down to Christmas by sharing a selection of our – and our friends’ – favourite festive songs. Today, we’ve chosen ‘Make You Mine This Season’ by Tegan and Sara.

Featuring on the soundtrack to the queer festive rom-com, Happiest Season, Tegan and Sara’s latest single has all the elements you want from a festive song – broken hearts under Christmas trees, timely and heartfelt lyrics (‘bells ring out on the street, snow falling at our feet, lights glowing in the trees, will you dance with me?’), a gorgeous synthbop backing and a desire to make things right: ‘You’re the only girl I’ve got on my list’; ‘I could make you mine, make you mine, this season’.
