Firestations, signed to Lost Map Records, have shared new single ‘The Circular’. An ode to revisionism and owning the past, rather than accepting mythologised versions, it features on the band’s ‘Automatic Tendencies’ project (an album split into three EPs) and reminded us of Grandaddy or Meursault with its gloriously light touch and fuzzed-up guitars. There are also elements of shoegaze and even twinky emo as the band wave ‘goodbye to the linear equaion’ and declare ‘we have to change, we won’t make it last any other way’.
