Tom Williams has shared new single ‘Heads Down’ ahead of the release of new album ‘Follow the Leader’ on 30 July via his own Wire Boat Recordings label. Grittier, fuzzier and grungier, the song opens with ferocious drums as Tom musies over the near-dystopian nature of modern life, taking in underpasses and revealing how ‘There’s a meanness now, and a different kind of feeling’ before warning us all ‘To keep our heads down’. Potent, gothic-tinged yet melodic hooks than take over – think Interpol or The War On Drugs – as the song drives forward to a chiming climax.
