Poster Paints – ‘Never Saw It Coming’

Poster Paints – a Glasgow-based duo made up of Carla J Easton and Simon Liddell (Frightened Rabbit) – have shared new single ‘Never Saw It Coming’ ahead of a few dates with Teenage Fanclub and their debut headline show at Glasgow’s Poetry Club on 7 October. The two members met through Carla’s work with The Vaselines and you can hear this ear for melodic melancholy from the very first note and especially in the lyrics: ‘When I think of home I think of empty spaces’.

Opening with an arty Life Without Buildings-style into, the song heads into more of a shoegaze direction while Carla pours her heart out as she tells herself and the subject of the song to pull themselves together if they want to find what they’re looking for…
