Bodega recently shared ‘Pillar’ – ‘the first love song I wrote for Nikki, my partner in romance, art and Bodega’, according to Ben Hozie. Steeped in romance and vibrancy, the song opens with a new wave feel as Ben declares ‘I want to be a pillar on the bridge of you’ before then going on to promise to show houw much he cares for his significant other – although with elements of doubt about how selfish different aspects of love can be. As the song reaches its climax, it begins to resemble a jam session between The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Sam Fender – complete with call-and-response vocals between the couple.
