Following tours with Priestgate and We Are Scientists, Bleach Lab release new single ‘Indigo’, a song inspired by being in a toxic relationship where the person responsible for the pain keeps trying to apologise for their behaviour. The band say the song is partly based on the famous John Cusack boombox scene from the ’80s film Say Anything and you can hear this as Jenna Kyle sings: ‘You’re outside with a speaker on the phone, you play a song that I don’t know’. With jangly pop hooks in the vein of Teenage Fanclub or The Shins and subtle strings adding extra emotional depth, this is a breezy and beautiful piece.
