Matt Emery has released his first musical offering since embarking on a solo career following the end of Stagecoach – and it’s simply breathtaking. ‘Effervescent’, which you can download for free via FatCat Records’ SoundCloud, is an ambient string-laden piano composition that you can already picture soundtracking everything from sporting highlights to a film’s most dramatic moment. Influenced by the likes of Max Richter, Ólafur Arnalds and Philip Glass, we’re sure to be hearing more from Matt this year – and that’s a very exciting prospect!
