Get Inuit – ‘All My Friends‘ Everyone’s favourite loud pop band Get Inuit have unveiled their angriest song yet and it finds them complaining about the way people grow up and get mortgages and forget to have fun: ‘All my friends now rot, their pens have lost their plot’ before talking about Fridays and substance…
Long-time Spectral Nights favourites Space Blood travelled over to the UK from Chicago shortly after recording this album to play a tour and a triumphant set at ArcTanGent – and we think the title may be a well-intentioned nod to their anglophile side and fascination with the more absurd elements of our culture. Released independently…
Fizzy Blood – ‘Pawn‘ Unveiled ahead of support tour to While She Sleeps, Fizzy Blood’s ‘Pawn’ is a high-octane blast of fun-filled rock with riffs, hooks and even ‘la, la, la’ singalongs. While Heck and Refused could both be touchpoints, there’s also something altogether more grungey as the band sing about how: ‘It’s time to face the music,…
Maximo Park – ‘Get High (No, I Don’t)‘ Indie stalwarts Maximo Park are making a welcome return this year and ‘Get High (No, I Don’t)’ is the first single to be unveiled from new album ‘Risk to Exist’. It starts off being driven along by a pounding rhythm and synth section as Paul Smith asks…

Bruising – ‘What It Feels Like’ Released via Too Pure Singles Club ahead of a tour with Menace Beach, Bruising’s ‘What It Feels Like’ is a song that couldn’t be more of a contrast to their aggressive name. Short and sweet with gliding vocals and guitar hooks that bring to mind some of the early…
Sl0tface – ‘Empire Records’ Sl0tface show just what great taste they have with a song named after the film that brought ‘Rex Manning Day’ to the world’s attention and manages to reference High Fidelity. Two of the greatest films about record shops ever made, you’ll want to join Haley Shea as she lays bare her…
Living Body – ‘Choose’ A Leeds supergroup formed by members of Sky Larkin, Vessels and Juffage, Living Body’s new track is a Life Without Buildings-style anthem that is full of melodic angst. The words ‘Get out while you can’ are repeated over and over again, while there is also something excitingly orchestral in the sound.…
Regina Spektor – ‘Small Bill$’ It’s so good to have Regina Spektor back and this new single opens with some Bond-style atmospherics. While the video is wrapped up in Yellow Submarine-style themes, the subject matter is far darker. There’s talk of ‘all the poets in the alley coughing up blood’ and how ‘everyone wants their…
